Day 36: Living In The Light That Overcomes
Loraine Otoo (John 8:12; 1 John 1:7)
Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12. And again, the Word reminds us that as we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we are cleansed and kept in fellowship with Him. 1 John 1:7. His light is not symbolic or distant; it is present, active, and dwelling within those who belong to Him. Where His light is, darkness cannot remain. The fruit of His light is goodness, righteousness, and truth, as Ephesians 5:9 declares. Perfect love casts out fear, and God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. These scriptures reveal my identity and my authority in Him.
TESTIMONY:
Most recently, I experienced an unusual attack on my whole body. Everything had been normal the night before, but when I woke up, I couldn’t move. I was in tremendous pain. Every muscle in my body was contracting and going into spasm. In that moment, I recognised exactly what was happening. This was darkness trying to settle, and I knew I had a choice: to panic, or to call on divine intervention.
The light of Christ always prevails over darkness, and darkness cannot remain where His light is present. This truth became my saving grace. I began to renounce what was not true and prayed from a place of authority. I refused to agree with fear. I held onto the truth that the Light lives in me, and that no darkness has permission to take residence in my body.
Sweet Jesus, my Saviour, my Master, my Redeemer, met me in that moment. His presence steadied me. His light filled me. And slowly, the spasms began to release. What tried to overwhelm me could not remain, because I am one who walks in the light, and the light always overcomes.

DECREE:
As it is written, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” I decree that fear has no place in me. I am one who walks in the light of Christ, and darkness cannot remain where His light is present. I stand in the truth of His Word. I am filled with His light, strengthened by His presence, and established in His authority. Every form of darkness is cast out in the name of Jesus. I walk in His power, I live in His love, and I stand in His truth. Amen.
PRAYER:
Sweet Jesus, Light of my life, thank You for Your presence that fills every part of me. Thank You that Your light exposes what is not true and strengthens what is. Keep my heart steady in Your truth today. Let Your light guide my steps, settle my spirit, and anchor my mind. I choose to walk in Your love, Your peace, and Your authority. Let every place in me reflect Your light. Amen.
